A2 Music Videos
The first A2 Video I looked at received an A grade, I can understand why the examiner gave them this mark. Immediately from the start the video looks as though it could be a professional music video not only by the camera quality but the set used for the band shots. The 'band' looks as though it could be a real band not just a bunch of school students and the lip syncing is pretty accurate as well. The video has some form of narrative too it and includes aspects of performance also, this helps to make the video not boring and keep the audience interested throughout. The video has some quick shots although not as quick as other videos but the video has a good mix of narrative and performance keeping the audience interested. The video also did not go overboard with special effects which can sometimes look a bit much if used too often. I personally would give this video 34/40.
The next video that I decided to analyze did not state what grade they got but I chose to analyze this as it has some aspects of our video within (drugs, alcohol, teenagers.) The video has a clear narrative and aspects of performance throughout. The video looks professional with the lighting excellent throughout, the performance shots especially. The video looks like it could be an actual music video. The video has quick cuts throughout keeping it exciting for the audience. The video chose wise settings for the shots that do not make it look amateur or like a student video. I would mark this video 32/40.
