Tiesto is of a similar genre to Ellie Goulding thats why I chose to annotate this music video. The video is similar to the ideas that we had in mind for our video which incorporates lots of light elements. The video has no particular narrative and is very performance based. The only purpose for the video is to entertain, not tell a story which is what we was thinking of doing as well. The video has a lot of close up shots which is what we was thinking of including in our video.
Another video that is similar genre to our Ellie Goulding track is Calvin Harris- Thinking About You. Like the idea for our video this video includes a lot of lip syncing and a lot of performance which is what we wanted to include into our video and seeing how much lip syncing is included in this video inspired us to include plenty of shots of lip syncing in ours. The video also uses lots of slow motion shots that make the video look very psychedellic, which is the look that we are going for in our video inspiring us to use slow motion shots.
In our video we are thinking of filming outside at night and thought that fireworks look very effective for a nighttime shoot. As we would not be able to get fireworks on the scale of this and it may look bad as its not very professional, so we took inspiration from this video and settled with sparklers for our video to try and get a similar effect.
