What are the emotions it stirs in you?

It makes you feel sad as the music is so slow, the slowness of the song and the tone of the bands voices builds up a mysterious atmosphere.

What images are conjured up in your mind when you hear the song?
I feel that the band are singing about an ending relationship. I picture a man wandering around an empty house that has picture frames covering the wall, with a picture of him and a girl in all of them, (couple.) I then imagine the house starting to shake and the pictures falling off the walls and smashing around him and to end the man just surrounded by mess standing in a ruined house.

What kind of video/visuals/effects?
The video is a performance video as it is the band singing, there is no story really going on and the video doesn't particularly follow a narrative.

What did the rest of the class picture when they heard the song?

• Shots from different situations of various different people showing the build up to the end of their relationship. E.G. arguing.
• A wedding with photos of both people at the wedding as single people, then a reverse time line leading to divorce.
• Roman Soldiers.
• Man walking away from camera along a road in Spain, visits a beach and  is reminded of a previous relationship, shows flashbacks of the relationship and ends with the girl coming to lay next to him.
•  Urban/London. Man walking along pavement walks past another man with a girl.
• Band singing live at a performance.
• Mans body parts slowly falling apart until he is left as a pile of ash.
• Man faces the sky and the rest of the band is playing in  the sky, woman is floating past and the man is trying to grab her.
• B/W image of the vocalist in the dark, background of a woman walking down the isle, the image turns to colour and we see the woman running back up the isle.

What is the connection between music, lyrics and visuals?
There is no direct link between the music and visuals although the music is parallel to the visuals, at first the music starts of softer and you just see the band laying still, then a guitar comes in and the music sounds louder and more upbeat, action starts happening around the men such as people laying rocks around them. "I could see how still I'd been" this could be related to the visual as the band are just lying on the floor still why everything is going on around them. "Like so many birds" this could be related as we see a bird and then a bird laying on one of the bad members chests.
