Creative Task: Banana Phone

For this task we was given the song 'Banana Phone' we was asked to create a  music video using several different shots:
  • Filming a person sitting down with the monitor window open and with another camera film the monitor.
  • Cloning editing task – tripod and camera must remain still in wide shot. Actor is filmed moving in different parts of the shot. Standing by the board, sitting down. 6 different shots.
  • Depth of field task .
  • Reverse shot- while the artist is singing get them to walk carefully backwards, but to add excitement to the shot add obstacles for jumping over.
  • Wheelchair / Tripod – we are going to simulate tracking and dolly shots. Camera on wheelchair film artist moving towards you singing to camera one take 30 seconds.
  • Lego stop motion.
For the monitor shot it was really hard to get the head of Ben to match up with his body, and we didn't have a second tripod so the shot was quite shaky. For the cloning task it was really hard to edit as there was people in the background moving so the shot wasn't exactly the same every time, so when I tried to split screen it there was a line inbetween each different shot. For the depth of field task we ran out of time. Fo the reverse shot Ben didn't know the words to the song so it was hard to get him to mime the words as we couldn't play it as we was outside. For the wheelchair shot someone was using the wheelchair so we couldn't film this. The lego stop motion seemed to be the easiest of the shots, although it was hard to get the figure to stick to the lego so we had to use blu tac to stick it and you can see the blu tac.
